What makes your product stand out?

–   Our products were developed at Torsåker Gård, a hub for product development in Sweden with a clear sustainability focus, explains Oddgeir Hole, CEO at Färsodlarna.

The aim for Färsodlarna has been was to offer a plant based alternative to mince meat which is a very popular daily ingredient in many dishes in Sweden and Europe. There are several plant based alternatives to mince meat out there, but what makes Färsodlarna’s special is that they use Swedish grown ingredients such as grey peas, fava beans and blue lupins.

–   We also use the whole seed from the pulses, we don’t extrude or isolate the proteins from them. This creates a more natural product and with more taste, says Oddgeir

Expectations in the United Kingdom

Given the strong growth within the organic market in the UK, it feels like a natural market to look at for Färsodlarna.

The debate regarding ultra-processed food and food related illnesses and the spread of non-communicable diseases, should also be favourable for the of wholefoods that Färsodlarna offers.

–   We’re open to sell our products through various channels, it could be directly to retail, food service or to food processing companies that would like to replace some of their meat with the mince from Färsodlarna.

Finally – what does Färsodlarna is Swedish, but what does it actually mean?
