How Swedish brands enter the UK Market

Swedish organic brands are making their mark in the UK as the EU-funded Organic Export UK project delivers tangible results. Early success stories include Moonvalley, DIG and Nordic Chocolate — three examples of how UK buyers are embracing sustainability-driven innovation from the Nordics.

“UK buyers are actively seeking brands that combine authenticity, functionality, health and sustainability — and Sweden is proving to be a good match,” says Charlotte Bladh André, CEO of Organic Sweden.

Dig Debuts on Healf

Swedish snack brand Dig has secured its first UK reseller through Healf, an e-commerce platform specializing in brands with limited or no UK presence. Healf simplifies international expansion, allowing companies to focus on their core markets. The partnership was initiated at the Natural & Organic Products Expo in May, and within less than three months Dig products were already live and available for purchase on Healf’s
site.

“Our brand aligns perfectly with Healf’s assortment and philosophy. They prioritize unique, premium health products not yet available in the UK, which makes them an ideal partner for us.”

says Gustav Skanby, CMO at Dig.

Dig takes inspiration from classic cookies, sweets, and snacks—reimagining them as clean alternatives made from a short list of natural and certified organic ingredients. To build awareness among British consumers, Dig is investing in targeted brand activities, including event sponsorships and in-person sampling initiatives.

Moonvalley Lands Distribution Deal with CLF

Founded by Swedish endurance athletes including trail-running champion Emelie Forsberg, Moonvalley produces organic, vegan energy bars designed for both athletes and health-conscious snackers. The brand recently secured distribution in the UK through CLF Distribution, one of the country’s leading natural product wholesalers.

“Partnering with CLF gives us a strong foothold in the UK market and connects us with retailers who truly understand the value of functional, organic products.”

says Johan Björkman, co-founder of Moonvalley.

Moonvalley’s products are now available to hundreds of UK retailers via CLF’s wholesale platform, with further expansion planned in 2026.

Nordic Chocolate Enters UK Farm Shops

Another brand is Nordic Chocolate, a small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate maker known for its transparency, traceability, and minimalist ingredients. The brand has quietly entered the UK market through a growing network of farm shops and independent retailers, attracted by its sustainability credentials and distinctive Nordic provenance.

“We’re thrilled to see our chocolate reach conscious consumers in the UK. We flavor with Nordic berries and medicinal plants that are dried and ground locally, such as field berries that are only found in the Arctic zone, which many British consumers seem to find exciting.”

says Jenny Berg, founder of Nordic Chocolate.

Nordic Chocolate has seen strong growth since participating in Natural and Organic Products Expo, NOPE, selling greater volumes into the UK market thanks to direct meetings with buyers.

From Matchmaking to Market Entry
Organic Export UK is a three-year EU-funded initiative led by Organic Sweden, designed to support Swedish organic producers in entering the UK market. Through trade show participation, tailored matchmaking and media outreach, the project connects scalable, export-ready Swedish brands with UK buyers across retail and foodservice.

“We’re proud to bring ten excellent companies that represent different parts of Sweden’s organic food production. Since all products are organically certified and carry the EU organic logo, they clearly communicate the standards they meet. Organic stands for quality, sustainability and transparency.”

adds Charlotte Bladh André, CEO of Organic Sweden.
